PUBLIC SAFETY

VoIP Verify E9-1-1 Service

When subscribers need emergency services and utilize VoIP E9-1-1, they expect calls to be answered by the nearest Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). TCS' VoIP Verify™ 9-1-1 Service provides a comprehensive public safety solution that benefits both digital Voice Service Providers (VSPs) and their subscribers.

Many VoIP telecommunications service provider networks are not natively compatible with the existing E9-1-1 infrastructure. There can be circumstances when a VoIP 9-1-1 call cannot be routed to a PSAP. To clarify the level of service to be expected, VoIP Verify provides feedback to subscribers immediately upon the conclusion of the provisioning process.

VoIP Verify enables VSPs to determine the availability and extent of E9-1-1 service coverage to their subscriber base. The subscriber uses a digital (VoIP) telephone to dial a number supplied by the VSP – usually a 9-1-1 variant such as 9-3-3. After dialing the designated number, the subscriber hears a recorded message describing the extent of the VoIP 9-1-1 service for the subscriber’s provisioned address.

Features and Benefits

  • Enables VSPs to develop custom dialing plans which allow subscribers to get real-time PSAP service status.
  • Provides subscribers immediate feedback at the end of the provisioning process.
  • Fully customizable to VSP specifications.
