Teleports, Co-location and Support Services

With teleports in Manassas, Virginia and partnerships with teleports in Fuchstadt, Germany, and London, England, TCS offers the flexibility and end-to-end solution needed for today's mission-critical communications. Operating in Ku and C-Band, TCS facilities are equipped to handle a variety of communication needs.

TCS owns and operates the International Gateway Facility located in Manassas, VA, which is composed of five dishes, ranging in size from 3.8M to 9.3M, that provide satellite connectivity to a wide variety of customers.

Land

The TCS International Gateway Facility (IGF) is located at 10221 Piper Lane in Manassas, Virginia. The properties are located at GPIN7595-90-6261, latitude 38.435N and longitude 77.315W. The site consists of 6.85 acres, which is divided into two sections. Section 1 consists of 4.85 acres, the antenna farm. Section 2 consists of 2 acres and is zoned for the future expansion of a two-story 30,000 sq. ft. data center.

Infrastructure

Currently, the IGF consists of five antennas and one additional antenna pad, configured to support up to a 9.3M antenna and shelter. There are three 9.3M Vertex antennas, two configured for dual polarization operations in Ku Band, one configured for dual polarization operations in C-Band, one 7.2M Vertex antenna configured for dual polarization and one 3.8M Prodelin antenna configured for cross polarization. TCS has approval to build up to a total of fifteen large earth station pads, with up to 9.3M antennas. The pad sites currently have conduit stubbed in place for each site.

Fiber Connectivity

The site is designed with two 2-inch PVC conduits, which are encased in 12 inches of concrete from Piper Lane to the master distribution pull box in the main shelter facility. Fiber connectivity is currently equipped with a self-healing OC-12 (622.08 Mbps) SONET Ring and a DS3 (45 Mbps) Internet connection from a Tier One provider.

Interference Berm

The south and west sides of the antenna farm are protected by an 11 ft. high by 45 ft. wide interference berm.

Licensing

The site is licensed for C and Ku band operations.

Security

The site is equipped with a 6 ft. chain link barbed-wire fence and seven 35-foot lighting poles. Each of the electronics shelters are equipped with intruder and smoke alarms that are reported via the M&C system. As an added security measure, each shelter is equipped with video surveillance monitoring.

Back-up Power

The site is equipped with a Generac 300KVA generator supplied by a 1000 gallon above ground diesel tank. The generator is able to sustain all tech power requirements for a minimum of 48 hours.

Co-location

The TCS International Gateway Facility has capacity for secure co-location, with coverage available in the continental United States, South and Central America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Support Services

The TCS Network Operations Center (NOC) and Satellite Operations Center (SOC) provide 24x7x365 emergency assistance for any connectivity issue customers may experience.
