SwiftLink® BGAN on the Move Solutions

SwiftLink® Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) On the Move, offered by TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS), provides needed versatility for mission-critical mobile communications. Through collaboration with Thrane & Thrane, TCS provides government markets with the ability to turn any car, truck, or other land vehicle into a mobile communications post while minimizing terminal visibility and set-up time.

The device consists of a terminal and tracking antenna interconnected with a single cable and powered by a 12V or 24V battery. Users log on to the BGAN satellite by switching on the antenna, allowing them to transmit and receive data on their PC or other data device, at speeds of up to 464 kbps. The device can be connected to SwiftLink units to provide super-secure encryption capabilities. Users can receive faxes and make phone calls simultaneously while traveling.

TCS has taken the indispensable attributes of the BGAN product—Everything over IP™ capabilities, secure/encrypted communications, durability, quick and easy setup, and compact size (the device is no larger than a notebook PC)—and combined this with the proven reliability of the SwiftLink product line allowing rapid data transmission while traveling in a land vehicle.
