TCS Company History TCS: Continuing a Tradition of Innovation With over half of all wireless E9-1-1 calls placed in North America and 850 billion text messages delivered using TCS technology, our history of engineering some of the most pioneering communication technologies continues to grow. More than 170 patents, including the industry-revolutionizing SMS text messaging patent, proove that TCS' consistent technology breakthroughs have been the catalyst for past successes. That same tradition will drive the company’s future. The company’s position as a leading provider of wireless data communications and secure satellite communications is the result of some of the brightest minds in the communications industry. TCS: History at a Glance Over TCS’ 24-year history, we’ve dedicated resources to solving critical communications challenges through innovative thinking within a client-focused business model. Along the way, we’ve garnered numerous awards and consistently win contracts with Tier 1 wireless operators and government agencies such as a the U.S. Departments of Defense, State, and Homeland Security. 1987 July 30 – TCS founded in Annapolis, Maryland 1989 Entered 8 (a) program 1990 First to deliver secure data traffic on SCAMPI network 1996 April – Original Lucent SMSC agreement 1997 TCS (Xypoint®) completed the first U.S. wireless E9-1-1 call in Allentown, Pennsylvania
